Horny Brits Just Wanna Have More Sexual Fun
UNITED KINGDOM — Londoners may not be among the list of Europeans considered too hot to handle sexually, but if a Durex survey of the sexual habits of folks living in the United Kingdom is any indicator, they’d sure like to be!FREQUENCY
According to the recent study, seven out of every 10 Britons would like to be getting their groove on more often. Of those surveyed, 62-percent of the women confessed a desire to be sexually intimate more often, with 82-percent of men sharing the same desire. Presumably, these men and women are not in relationships with one another. When unable to talk their partners into a bit of the old in-out/in-out, they turn to fantasies about people they know, masturbation, porn, or even infidelity to take the edge off.
Perhaps they should hook up with the folks in Glasgow, where seven-percent of respondents informed researchers that they had done the wild thing with more than 50 people — or perhaps it’s Edinburgh where the action is, what with 13-percent claiming to have sex with someone else on a daily basis. Of course, with 31-percent of all UK participants doing the horizontal bop twice a week and one in 10 saying it’s a daily thing, it doesn’t look like the geopolitical area is entirely estranged from itself, although 22-percent of those sharing their deepest darkest secrets admitted that they only do “it” less often than once a month.
FANTASIES
Interestingly enough, women are not the stay-at-home and suffer types that popular social fiction paints them as. Out of more than 3,000 people who spoke with the Durex team, 40-percent of the women said they’d cheated on their partners, compared to 34-percent of the men. Totally in line with what honest lovers have admitted for decades, 21-percent of those polled in the Durex Big Sex Survey acknowledged that they’re thinking about someone else while having sex with their partner — and that “someone else” is 41-percent likely to be a friend of the opposite sex, 22-percent likely to be someone from work, and 13-percent likely to be a friend of the person they’re getting naked and noisy with.
Upon scratching deeper, the study participants coughed up even more meaty chunks about their most secret sex thoughts. 12-percent of the women interviewed sometimes think naughty thoughts about female friends, while only four-percent of men think about their buds. Once the close association aspect of the question was removed, the number of lesbian fantasies soared to 34-percent and the number of mano-a-mano mental hot spots raises to 14-percent.
Interestingly enough, nearly half of women fantasize about sex twice a day, whereas slightly more than a quarter of men think about it 10 times a day — with 29-percent of those involved listing work as their number one place to fantasize, it’s hardly a surprise so little gets done in the mainstream workplace!
Perhaps even more interesting is the fact that the same amount of women insist that size really does count, which could explain why slightly more than half of them use a vibrator by themselves and 36-percent dig porn when nobody else is looking. Sadly, a third feel compelled to keep their masturbation a secret from their male partners. Conversely, 69-percent of men view pornography alone, with a wee bit more than half of them keeping their interest a secret.
VARIETY
The old missionary position is a reliable friend throughout the world, but 22-percent of those speaking with the Durex Big Sex Study crew said they’d like to see something a little different creep into bed with them — like a third person, some restraints, a little rough talk, or more vigorous play. Alas, the same numbers confessed to being afraid to tell their lovers about their desires.
SATISFACTION & DISSATISFACTION
Sexual tourists might want to make an extra stop at Bradford in West Yorkshire, since it’s the most sexually active city in Britain with 23-percent of its citizens getting their groove on daily. Next up would be a trip to Swansea, where 20-percent of the inhabitants do likewise, followed by Coventry with 13.3-percent and Newcastle with 12-percent. Those with a special affection for things that go “buzz” would do well to dally in Coventry, given that 57-percent of those interviewed enjoy a bit of sex toy play. Sheffield and Swansea are not far behind them, however.
Those seeking the ruddy faces of happy fornicators would be advised to skirt Sunderland, however, with eight of every 10 people grumbling that they’re not getting it often enough — or perhaps that’s an incentive to visit!
On average, 44-percent those in the UK have had between one and five sex partners, with another ambitious 22-percent having racked up between six and 10, and an over-achieving three-and-a-half-percent having shared the love with more than 50. The Scottish appear particularly frisky, with more than eight-percent listing more than 50 partners and more than seven-percent of those in Glasgow following suit. Aberdonians are also mighty horny, but half of them have looked elsewhere other than their partners’ side of the bed for relief.
Ultimately, the mega condom company found that 63-percent of those involved with the study are pretty happy with how things are in their life sexually — although 22-percent of them rarely or never use condoms and one in 10 have added an STD to their collection of intimate inner wear.
