VALENCIA, Calif. – Amateur adult entertainment pioneer Homegrown Video has signed a deal with traditional adult studio and distribution company Girlfriends Films. Under the agreement, Girlfriends will serve as the official distributor of Homegrown’s award-winning amateur content on DVD.

According to an announcement from the companies, Girlfriends Films Distribution will issue four new Homegrown titles each month.

“We have long admired the business practices of Girlfriends Films,” Homegrown Chief Executive Officer Spike Goldberg said. “Through a combination of quality, ethics and hard work, Girlfriends Films has become a powerhouse in our industry.

“I know partnering with them will ensure Homegrown Video’s amateur movies continue to be enjoyed around the world while also reaching new adults curious about organic, natural sexual encounters between real-life couples,” he added.

On Sept. 12, Girlfriends will begin shipping Homegrown Video #851 and Amateur Big Dicks #15. Both titles have a street date of Sept. 22. Homegrown Swingers #12 and Amateur Anal Attempts #37 will ship Sept. 26 for an Oct. 7 street date.

The amateur porn movement pioneered by Homegrown Video in 1982 spawned popular gonzo and pro-am porn, which utilize professional performers and crews in an attempt by traditional adult studios to duplicate amateur content’s success. Homegrown has remained true to its roots, soliciting amateur content from actual amateurs and presenting the best of the material on DVD and online.

The company’s approach to its once-unconventional product has earned it a number of awards and honors, including 11 AVN Awards. In 2009, AVN inducted Homegrown founder and owner Farrell Timlake, a former professional adult performer, into the AVN Hall of Fame.
