Hockey Night in Qwebec: ‘Friendly’ Hockey?
QUEBEC CITY – Even in famously polite Canada, the words “friendly” and “hockey” seldom are seen together. Qwebec Expo hopes to change that when the adult industry trade show, in conjunction with two affiliate programs, presents Hockey Night in Qwebec Aug. 9.
“Hockey is a religion in Canada and a big part of my life, so I’m very proud and thrilled to organize a hockey game,” said Axel Vézina, a partner in CrakRevenue, one of the companies that organized the event. “This dynamic and friendly event will be a great occasion to get to know more of the leading actors of our industry.”
Vézina said the opposing teams will bear the names of their organizing sponsor — Team CrakRevenue and Team CECash — but everyone is invited to participate. Hockey skills aren’t important, he added, but those who want to play should be at least capable skaters.
“Come out and play, be a referee, a coach, a scorekeeper, a cheerleader, but make sure to be there,” Vézina said. “It will be a lot of fun.”
Hockey Night in Qwebec will take place Friday, Aug. 9, at the Bell Sports Complex in Montreal (Brossard). The complex serves as the official practice facility of the National Hockey League’s Montreal Canadiens.
Complimentary transportation from Qwebec Expo’s headquarters at the Marriott Chateau Champlain Hotel to the hockey arena and back will be provided by CrakRevenue and CECash. Hockey equipment will be available for participants who do not have their own.
