HawgsCash Quits, Cites 2257
CYBERSPACE – Adult website affiliate program HawgsCash sent an email to affiliates Friday morning announcing that the company would be closing its program and redirecting all affiliate traffic to another company’s program. The closure will be effective on June 22nd, the day the new 2257 regulations go into effect, and HawgsCash cited 2257 as the primary reason for the move.“It is with very deep regret that we are forced to close HawgsCash effective June 22nd, 2005. Due to new 2257 regulations and other determining factors we can no longer operate HawgsCash in its current state and to be compliant would not be possible in the month time frame the government has given us,” the email read.
The closing of HawgsCash, however, does not mean that its owners are getting out of the adult entertainment industry.
“The Hawgs are not going out of business,” the statement said. “They will just be focusing their energy on other projects.”
One of those projects is a newly revamped PornResource.com website.
Affiliates who have promoted HawgsCash recently will also be scrambling, since they will be required to remove from the internet any content obtained through HawgsCash.
“We also recommend removing any and all free content and banners we have given out to promote HawgsCash in the past, as on June 20th the implied license you have been given for use of this content will be rescinded on this date,” the notice stated.
Webmasters who send traffic to HawgsCash links after the closure date will find that their traffic will be redirected to AdultPlayersClub.com, and all affiliates will be paid by that website for any sales that are generated from their traffic.
