Hackers Snarl Moscow Traffic with Larger-Than-Life Porn
YNOT – Computer hackers have been blamed for the traffic mayhem that resulted Friday night when a giant TV screen in downtown Moscow broadcast porn, distracting hundreds of motorists.According to published reports, drivers slammed on their brakes to watch the sexually explicit material on an electronic billboard that sits atop a hill about two kilometers south of the Kremlin.
A spokesman for the advertising agency that owns the screen told the state-run Russian news agency his company believes hackers broke into the system, although no one is sure why.
“They were either acting out of hooliganism or were from a rival company,” Panno.ru Commercial Director Viktor Laptev told RIA.
Authorities reportedly are investigating the breach.
Nudity on Russian television was banned before the Soviet Union dissolved in 1991.
