MIAMI, FL — Security cameras may have captured it and the evidence may well be smolderingly obvious — but nobody can quite believe what happened at the Bird Road adult book store.Anti-porn activists will often decry the violence and sexual abuse that they insist walks hand-in-hand with adult establishments, but it wasn’t a sex crazed porn lover who drenched the interior of the store in flammable liquid and then set it on fire — while there were still people inside.

Whoever it was, he was polite. He even apologized to the clerk behind the counter before putting everyone in the building in mortal danger.

Security cameras captured the 3:30am terror of the August 12th arson, including his conversation with the Bird Road clerk, during which he confessed to having a guilty conscience but a need to burn the place down, anyway.

Fresh from his apology, the man poured liquid into the store’s aisles and the clerk’s viewing booth — and then set it alight.

Although the clerk attempted to pull his attacker out of the booth, the man was able to continue to scatter his flammable liquid and spread the fire throughout the store.

In spite of the fact that he was caught on camera, he was lost during the resulting panic of fleeing customers and employees and the local police are both baffled by where he is and why he committed the crime, which can carry a life in prison due to the presence of people during the arson.

Why the release of the surveillance video took more than a week is unknown.
