Grooby’s Black-TGirls.com Celebrates 20-Year Milestone Anniversary
Los Angeles, CA — Grooby reached a career milestone this past week with the 20th anniversary of their website, Black-TGirls.com.
“Just over 20 years ago, we looked at splitting Grooby Girls — or Shemale Yum, as it was then known — into two sites, as the requests for more and more black content were building,” said Grooby’s founder, Steven Grooby.
“In those days we were still shooting on film with no video, and each week was a fight to find new models. In those early internet days, it was a struggle to find new talent, with producers having to scour local personals papers, or trawl the streets looking for potential models. It made both logical and economical sense to separate the sites, and come up with a new brand of ‘Black-TGirls.com,’” Grooby added.
Today, Black-TGirls features over 1400 unique models. Its alumni included stars such as Kayla Coxx, Natassia Dreams, Sexxy Jade, Megan Snow, Victoria Porsche and many more. Trans celebrity TS Madison (Big Dick Bitch) debuted here, as did some models who have gone onto mainstream media success. Producers in 1999 included Tony Vee, The Commander, Video Bob and Vegas Bob. In 2019, the lineup is mainly Kila Kali, Radius Dark, Jack Flash, Omar Wax and Buddy Wood, who shoot content across the United States.
According to Grooby, Black-TGirls has essentially been the only platform showcasing black trans adult content for twenty years.
“I think it’s a travesty how few black performers get to work for other companies and projects considering the amount of talent out there,” Grooby said.
“I’m a huge fan of the site and the girls. It’s a privilege to be able to work with so many, to be able to provide a platform to showcase these gorgeous women and to be able to use that platform to also educate and promote on trans issues and inclusion,” he added. “I’d like to thank all the models, the producers and the supporters who have been able to keep this site at the forefront of trans erotica over the last two decades, and I look forward to continuing to grow in the future years.”
