GFY Becomes ASACP’s Newest In-Kind Media Sponsor
The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is pleased to announce that GFY has become its newest In-Kind Media Sponsor.
GFY.com was launched in 2001 as an adult industry webmaster forum and quickly became the most popular place online to interact with other members of the community. Since its launch, GFY has grown into a hub of information and interaction. Now 19 years and more than 20 million posts later, the site continues to hold true to its motto: “Where the Industry Meets.”
“I’ve long admired the work that ASACP does to protect children online and have also served on the association’s Advisory Council, where I had a behind-the-scenes view of its efforts and achievements,” Theo from GFY explained. “With an election year upon us, it’s vital for the industry to show unity and that it is dedicated to keeping kids safe without the need for governmental interference.”
Included in its sponsorship package, the GFY website will feature an ASACP logo along with promotion on the company’s social media and industry forums, along with attendance assistance for its annual Internext Expo and Webmaster Expo trade events.
“By helping ASACP to educate industry stakeholders about the technology and tools available to them, such as RTA, the association is making a real difference,” Theo added. “GFY is proud to take part in that effort.”
GFY’s support is a welcome show of solidarity for the nonprofit association, which thrives on the help it receives from responsible digital media companies.
“ASACP is extremely grateful to GFY for its extended support in our battle to protect the innocence of youth on the internet,” Henning said. “The digital media industry is on the forefront of the need for online child protection and as an industry leader, GFY’s support of the association sends a very powerful message.”
“Through their generosity,” Henning adds, “ASACP will reach countless frontline operators, providing them with the education and free resources they need to keep children out of and away from adult-oriented materials, helping to make the internet a safer place.”
ASACP uses the support it receives from its sponsors to fund initiatives such as its internationally recognized Child Exploitation Tipline, which has processed more than 1 million CP reports since its inception; and ASACP’s multiple award-winning Restricted To Adults (RTA) meta labeling system that helps prevent minor’s access to adult-oriented web pages and mobile apps. Market-specific Best Practices and a universal Code of Ethics help guide digital media companies towards child-safe operation and are also among ASACP’s tangible successes.
