Gay Mayor’s Ex-Lover to Appear Nude in Unzipped Magazine
PORTLAND, OR — The sexiness of the young man’s name eluded no one following Portland Oregon’s first openly gay mayor’s first openly sexual political scandal. With a name like “Beau Breedlove,” many opined, could a porn career or nude photo shoot be far behind?Apparently not, if the Associated Press can be believed.
Breedlove was a 17-year-old legislative intern when he was befriended by now-mayor, then-city commissioner Sam Adams, who was 42 at the time. Although both contend that the duo kept their romantic and sexual interests in the realm of the purely legal until Breedlove’s 18th birthday, the brief and consensual relationship provided grist for the political gossip and intrigue mill during Adams later – and ultimately successful — bid to make Portland the largest American city with an openly gay mayor.
While many have wondered whether the issue would have been as hot had the couple in question been gender balanced, the fact Adams chose to lie about it during the election and urged his ex to do likewise fueled the fire, with some citizens insisting that the relationship meant that the mayor must be a sexual predator.
According to regional press sources, an interview featuring the handsome and now 21-year-old Breedlove will appear in the May 2009 issue of Unzipped magazine. Not only will Breedlove appear in the publication, but he will do so in the nude – which should delight those who have observed that he is “impossibly hot,” as one blogger put it.
The Unzipped website describes the shoot as “an erotic photo session.”
Although Breedlove told The Oregonian “I was not pulled into this situation by Sam. I was not unfairly influenced by Sam. I think Sam is a wonderful man,” calls for Adams’ resignation were loud and an investigation by the Oregon Attorney General’s office has been undertaken to determine whether Breedlove was of legal age when the relationship turned sexual.
