Gamma Entertainment Acquires Pride Studios
MONTREAL – Buddy Profits, a gay operating unit of the Gamma Entertainment group, has acquired all assets of Florida-based Pride Studios. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
“Pride Studios was among the early pioneers in the online gay adult market and has built and sustained a prodigious reputation in the industry and gay community,” said Buddy Profits President Stephan Sirard. “We happen to share a similar value and passion for leadership in gay adult entertainment. Therefore, it is with great pleasure that we now can count Pride Studios as one of our assets.”
Founded in 2002, Pride Studios began producing content for the web and later branched into DVD production and distribution. In addition to a network of gay adult websites, the company also operates the Pride Bucks affiliate program.
“From the very beginning, we have been committed to offering the finest quality content delivered with great attention to detail,” said Pride Studios co-founder Harlan Yaffe. “Buddy Profits, with its dedication to excellence, represents the ideal team to carry on our legacy and will without a doubt continue to raise the bar for the highest standards in gay entertainment.”
Added co-founder Joe Sterner, “When we created Pride Studios so many years ago, we wanted to build a program that we would be excited to promote with a strong outreach to affiliates. Now the the time has come for David, Harlan and I to move on. It is so reassuring that the Buddy Profits team shares our focus, and we have no doubt they will be great stewards of the Pride Studios brand.”
According to Hector Camacho, director of product and development for Buddy Profits, Pride Studios will continue to produce weekly content updates for its network of websites. The portfolio includes six membership websites, five of which will be integrated into the Buddy Profits program: ExtraBigDicks.com, MenOver30.com, CircleJerkBoys.com, 1GayPass.com and BoyzParty.com.
“We are all very excited to add such diverse products to our current line of membership sites and programs,” Camacho said. “This acquisition will help us continue offering a wide selection of premium-quality products to our consumers, and [the move] further strengthens our position as a global leader in the gay adult market.
“We expect to redesign and re-launch five of the sites in order to improve user experience, site functionality and affiliate conversions, all while maintaining the essence of the sites as they each exist today,” he added.
Buddy Profits, founded in October 2006, currently offers 35 promotable gay adult websites. The addition of the Pride Studios network will increase the number to 40.
