Univision says their coverage will be “balanced,” presenting both pro-porn and anti-porn viewpoints. As noted in the FSC release, “in what proportion the differing opinions will air won’t be known until the segment is completed.”

Lowther, who speaks Spanish fluently, reports that he was able to make several important points in support of the adult industry in his appearance, including:

• The constitutional right of freedom of speech and the right to purchase, view, and use adult materials should be protected;

• Obscenity laws are unconstitutionally vague and have led to adult industry members (and members of the general public, as well) being arrested for violations which they cannot know in advance they have committed;

• That FSC was formed about 14 years ago to promote freedom of speech, particularly as it relates to adult entertainment in the U.S., and that the organization now represents 3,500 companies and individuals; and

• In America, those with conservative political or religious beliefs don’t get to tell the rest of us how we must live, what we can buy, or what we can do (or use) in the privacy of our own bedrooms.

According to the FSC release, Lowther also drew attention to the fact that some in Congress and the executive branch have made scrutiny of the adult industry by the Department of Justice a high priority and a time when there are clearly more important issues on which the government should be focusing its efforts.

Lowther also noted that FSC opposes exposing the adult materials to unwilling adults, that children should never be used in adult materials, and that FSC offers rewards to combat child pornography.
