FSC INSPIRE to Host Financial Panel for Performers, Content Creators
The Free Speech Coalition has announced it will host a special FSC INSPIRE session focused on tax preparation for adult workers this Thursday, April 8 at 11am PST. The session, hosted by FSC Industry Relations Advocate Lotus Lain, will feature tax preparer Lauren Fumagalli, a veteran performer and IRS Enrolled Agent with 16 years of tax experience, bookkeeper Jessie Hornby (Nerds4Numbers) and AILAA-founder Mary Moody.
In addition to discussing and answering questions on tax filing issues, FSC said the panel “will speak to how performers can take advantage of forgivable loans from the PPP loan program.”
“This has been a highly unusual financial year for many performers,” Lain said. “We’ve been getting so many questions online, we decided to put together an expert panel to discuss last minute filing issues for 2020, as well as PPP loans and strategies for reducing your tax burden in the year to come.”
FSC first held an INSPIRE tax panel in January, with tax attorney Beth McKenna and tax domme Lori St. Kitts, but said “not all questions could be answered in the time frame” allotted for the panel.
“Sex work is real work,” Lain said. “They deserve the same resources and guidance as those who run mainstream businesses, and the same support from the government. This panel will help our workers understand how to access COVID support, better protect their businesses, and legally reduce their tax burden.
