FSC Incumbents Keep Seats on Board
YNOT – Eight of nine incumbent candidates for the Free Speech Coalition’s board of directors retained their seats, according to election results presented Monday by FSC Chief Executive Officer Diane Duke.
Kink.com owner Peter Acworth, retailer Sid Grief, publisher Alec Helmy, distributor Joel Kaminsky, journalist Mark Kernes, attorney Reed Lee and marketing professional Lynn Swanson will continue as at-large members. Attorney Jeffrey Douglas, who has served the organization as chairman for 15 years, also was re-elected.
Marci Hirsch, vice president of production and licensing for Vivid Entertainment and the sole new candidate to be elected, will fill the ninth vacant seat on the board.
“I have been fortunate enough to work with Marci on the Measure B campaign and subsequent litigation,” said Duke. “She is brilliant, a hard worker, well-connected and brings a strong business component to the board. Those skills, coupled with her enthusiasm and leadership ability, make her a valuable addition to FSC’s board.”
The FSC is the trade association for the adult entertainment industry in the U.S. The organization serves as a watchdog guarding the industry against unconstitutional and oppressive government intervention. It also acts as a voice for the industry and provides business resources to facilitate success in a challenging environment. During late December and early January, FSC members in good standing selected board members from a slate of 14 candidates.
Members of the board who continue to serve unexpired terms include Bob Christian, Larry Garland, Kara Price and Christian Mann.
