FSC Greets 2009 with New Logo, Celebrity Autographs at AEE
CANOGA PARK, CA — The Free Speech Coalition is starting 2009 off with two new board members, a new organizational logo – and an Adult Entertainment Expo booth packed with information, activism and sizzling hot adult talent with a community conscience. In addition to adding XBIZ president Alec Helmy and Titan Media attorney Gil Sperlein to the board, the trade association for the adult entertainment industry has updated its logo, a move that represents yet another step in the organization’s continuing campaign to update and re-brand its image. Future improvements include a complete redesign and re-launch of both the FSC website and X-Press weekly online newsletter. A Facebook page will give members and the curious another opportunity to stay in touch and informed.
“FSC’s new look reflects a new organization,” FSC executive director Diane Duke explains in an organization press release. “We are the trade association for the adult entertainment industry, we are the voice of pride for the industry to the media, the legislature and our government. We are a resource for business information and benefits to better position adult businesses in a challenging and ever-changing business environment and we are the watchdog for the adult industry protecting adult businesses from real threats like oppressive government regulation and intellectual property theft.”
Attendee’s of this week’s Adult Entertainment Expo at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas will get a chance to see not only the debut of the new logo at the FSC booth but also meet a number of respected performers. Among those greeting their friends and fans at booth B837 will be AVN Hall of Famers Alexandra Silk and Luc Wylder, as well as award-winning female-to-male transsexual performer/director, Buck Angel.
“It’s really wonderful to have performers give of their own time to show support for the association,” FSC membership director Joanne Cachapero observes in a press release. “Buck Angel travels all over the world to perform, as well as appearing at many fundraisers and educational seminars. He has been nominated for and won several awards for his work and is a great representative for the adult industry.”
Silk and Wylder are no slackers, either, having entered the industry during the 1990s. Silk is familiar many for her recurring role as Bailiff Silk on Playboy TV’s Sex Court, in addition to her more explicit roles. Both she and husband Wylder own and operate Fallen Angel Productions in addition to running their namesake websites. The couple are among the few to have both achieved Hall of Fame status, with Wylder being inducted this year.
“Alexandra will be signing photos and posters at the booth,” Cachapero explains, adding that the petite performer has “graciously decided to donate all funds raised to the FSC.”
Silk and Wylder will appear at the booth on Friday, January 9th from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm, relieving Angel, who will begin signing at 11:00 am. The couple will return on Saturday to meet and greet from noon until 2:00 pm.
In addition to brochures, fliers, pins and sexy people who care about the future of free speech and the adult industry, the FSC booth will feature a prize wheel, which visitors may spin in order to win DVDs, membership discounts, and a chance for $500 worth of free tickets to the annual FSC Bash in September.
