FSC Begins 2008 Board Nomination Process
CANOGA PARK, CA — While the national election may – at long last – be over, the Free Speech Coalition’s board of director election process has only begun. According to a press release sent out today, FSC members should have received an electronic nomination link allowing them to formally propose the names of potential 2008 board members.
Nominations via the Web link will be active until November 21st and current FSC members may nominate any other currently active member for available board seats.
“We hope that the enthusiasm around this year’s national election will carry over to the election process for FSC board members,” executive director Diane Duke explained, going on to say that “People in adult feel passionately about the issues facing the industry and this is an opportunity to participate in positive progress, by choosing candidates who may eventually help to create policy and become advocates for the industry.”
Once nominee names have been received, those earning the greatest number of recommendations will be added to the list of incumbents seeking re-election in December.
Those incumbents are attorneys Jeffrey Douglas and Reed Lee, as well as AVN’s Mark Kernes, NakedSword.com’s Tim Valenti, Evotum’s Mara Epstein and Topco Sales’ Lynn Swanson.
Final voting will occur between December 1st – 19th via both electronic and hand-written ballots sent directly to eligible members.
