SACRAMENTO, CA – For the ninth year in a row, members of the adult entertainment industry will take the initiative and exercise their right to free expression – by going directly to California lawmakers and making their thoughts on matters political known as part of the Celebrate Free Speech Lobbying Days.Organized by the Free Speech Coalition, the April 24th and 25th event has become an example of how cooperation between the government and the adult industry can be both effective and mutually beneficial.

Thirty-five people, including veteran performer and activist Nina Hartley, adult actress Jessica Drake, former gubernatorial candidate and porn princess Mary Carey, Titan Media’s Gil Sperlein, retired military officer turned mature porn star Dave Cummings, sexual academic professionals Dr. Marty Klein and Dr. Dave Hall, are currently on board to represent the wide range of perspectives to be found in the industry and free speech communities. On Monday and Tuesday the participants will attend training sessions, with practical experience gained during the workshops put into practice at the California State Capitol and culminating with a press conference on its steps.

Additionally, on Monday evening the FSC will sponsor its annual Legislative Reception, this year with a Mardi Gras Mood theme and showcasing the musical talents of local Dixieland band, the K Street Ramblers. The reception, held at a Sacramento restaurant, provides a less formal and more relaxed environment for legislators and adult industry professionals, FSC members, and attorneys to meet and converse.
