Free Speech Coalition Begins Search for New Executive Director
CANOGA PARK, CA — Activist-minded professionals keen to fill big shoes while making the world safer for pornographers have the chance to do just that, according to the Free Speech Coalition (FSC), which is accepting applications for the position of Executive Director.Michelle L. Freridge, who has held the position of FSC Executive Director for the past two years, says that although she leaves the position in order to pursue a legal degree working with First Amendment issues, “Building the organizations’ capacity, getting to know and work with industry leaders, developing the federal lobbying and member services, working with the attorneys on litigation, and initiating the code of ethics and best practices has been exciting and fulfilling work.”
Jeffrey Douglas, Chairman of the Board of FSC praises the work that Freridge has done with the help of the board members and other industry professionals.
“Michelle and her staff have done an excellent job of professionalizing FSC and expanding the trade group’s influence in the industry and among police makers,” he states, going on to explain that “without her leadership, the entire industry would be substantially worse off. We regret her departure, but wish her the very best.”
But the work Freridge started so competently isn’t finished yet, as new developments including HR 4472 have shown, and thus the search for a replacement begins. According to Douglas, “The next leader we hire will build on these successes and take the organization to the next level.”
In order to conduct a national search for worthy candidates, an Executive Search Committee has been formed. Those possessing a unique combination of visionary outlook, non-profit, business, political, administrative, fiscal, fundraising, and member services abilities and experience are ideal candidates for the position.
