Free Speech Coalition Begins Membership Director Search
CANOGA PARK, CA — With the United States unemployment rate climbing towards 6-percent, chances are good that the Free Speech Coalition (FSC) will receive plenty of applications for its newest open position; membership director. The question, of course, is whether those applicants will have the necessary vision, understanding, and tenacity to not merely step into the position, but help maintain the momentum that its predecessor set in motion.Scott L. Lowther brought 30 years of professional non-profit and leadership experience to the FSC during the three years in which he held the title of Director of Membership Services. In addition to a number of programs and services still in development, Lowther was involved in many vital, if low profile, projects, including the organization’s Annual Report, State-of-the-Industry Report, X-Press re-design, membership survey, and copious fundraising.
Lowther is scheduled to step down officially from the position as of Friday, August 9th, meaning that the trade organization dedicated to “lead, protect and support the growth and well-being of the adult entertainment community” has announced its search for a replacement.
In a press release distributed today, the FSC specified that it seeks candidates seeking a full-time, professional position with “a high level of skill and competency and the ability to work with limited supervision and make duty-related decisions.”
Further, this detail-oriented individual must be comfortable with multiple, often simultaneous deadlines and possess excellent interpersonal skills for interactions with a wide range of personality types. In addition to strong work ethics and high energy, at least five years of adult industry related work experience and a Bachelor’s degree are preferred.
Executive Director, Diane Duke, explains that the FSC is “looking for someone who understands that our members and the well-being of the industry are our priorities.” This person must be “someone who will advance the development of trade association benefits and services to support our members and the adult entertainment industry’s future success.”
