Flynt Family Feud Takes a New Turn
CINCINATI, OH – The Hatfields and McCoys have nothing on the Flynt family. Already embroiled in a trademark infringement lawsuit with his nephews, iconic adult publisher Larry Flynt has been sued by their father — his own brother.Jimmy Flynt, father of Dustin Flynt and Jimmy Flynt II, filed a lawsuit Friday in which he accuses his infamous sibling of trying to force him out of the family business. According to court documents, Larry Flynt wants to evict Jimmy Flynt’s Hustler retail store from a building Larry Flynt owns in downtown Cincinnati. Jimmy Flynt claims the eviction is retaliation for his refusal to provide a loan to Larry Flynt Productions.
Larry Flynt contends his brother’s store is in arrears on rent.
Jimmy Flynt also claims in the lawsuit that his brother’s eviction action represents an attempt to obtain leverage in Larry Flynt’s ongoing legal battle with Dustin and Jimmy Flynt II. Larry Flynt filed the lawsuit last year in order to stop his nephews from trading on the family name in the adult industry.
In mid-January, a court barred the younger Flynt brothers from marketing their own line of adult videos under any name that includes the name “Flynt” in such a way that it might be confused with any portion of Larry Flynt’s massive Hustler empire.
In his lawsuit, Jimmy Flynt seeks a halt to he eviction.
