First Hardcore Digital BDSM Magazine Bows
BOSTON – BDSM community Wasteland.com has expanded again, this time into the publishing realm. According to founder Colin Rowntree, Wasteland magazine is the first explicit digital BDSM publication.
“The advent of tablets and mobile phones has vaulted the digital magazine market into high gear,” Rowntree said, adding he saw in the changing landscape an opportunity to add another digital avenue for content distribution. “We’re excited to be the first true BDSM digital magazine catering to the fetish community. “We have always been on the forefront of technology, and this marks yet another milestone.”
The quarterly hardcore magazine, created and published in collaboration with adult publishing and production company Pentagram Media, includes photo sets, videos, instructional articles, fiction and interviews. Pentagram principal RJJ, who serves as co-publisher, pointed out Wasteland offers BDSM aficionados an intriguing combination: new-media bells and whistles in a user-friendly, print-like page.
“Having on-the-go content from the leading fetish website lets users be entertained with new content and video without having to click through a traditional website,” RJJ said. “It also lets advertisers reach a new generation of fans and consumers used to immediate page-by-page social media gratification.”
Advertisers already have embraced the product, he added. Companies like Gamelink enjoy the ability to embed links directly in their ads on the magazine’s pages.
Wasteland digital magazine is distributed on the SkinMagz digital newsstand platform, which also underlies digital publications for Hustler, Evil Angel and Penthouse, among others.
