Fetish Video-clip Marketplace Connects Fans, Performers
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – A new online marketplace site offers to connect fetish performers with paying fans for free … at least through March 1, 2014.
FetMeOver.com launched Nov. 19 as a resource for performers with hardcore fetish clips that may not be acceptable on other video-clip sales sites. At launch, FetMeOver accepted only bitcoins for payment, giving the site’s operators and performers more latitude over the types of content that may be presented.
“We have only been live for one month but have already achieved sales and praise from our content sellers across the globe,” spokesperson Master Fet noted earlier this week. “We believe bitcoin can revolutionize the adult entertainment industry by providing discreet transactions to our customers and quick payout and low transaction fees for our content sellers.”
By Tuesday, the site’s operators were beginning to backpedal.
“There have been some concerns from certain performers that a bitcoin-only website may discourage some customers from making a purchase,” a spokesperson wrote on the blog. “Though we have had sales this past month, we understand the concerns and would like to announce that we are currently in talks with credit card processors to determine the best possible way to implement credit cards on FetMeOver. However, note that we will only proceed with implementation if we are able to allow the content that we deem acceptable for sale, not the credit card companies.”
Regardless where the payment situation lands, FetMeOver has invited fetish performers and fans to check out the marketplace. In addition to a sales and distribution platform, the site offers a newsfeed, performer collaboration tools, a video request system and chat.
As an introductory offer, FetMeOver will pay content producers 100 percent of the gross revenues they generate through 11:59 p.m. ET March 1, 2014. After March 1, the site will split revenues with performers on an 80-20 basis (80 percent for the performer).
