Female Thief Stabs Adult Shop Clerk with Hypodermic
PRESTON, AUSTRALIA — It’s been said that whether or not it “takes all kinds,” the world certainly has all kinds. A panicked adult shop employee in the north end of Melbourne has certainly learned that when it comes to robbers, some of them are way crazier than others. In fact, some of them are just plain scary crazy.About 11:45 pm last Saturday, a woman entered the Club X adult shop and spent a half hour browsing the shelves. A shop employee later told the press that the staff saw nothing unusual about her behavior at that point.
It was after all the other customers left the store that things got scary crazy weird.
Once the shop was clear of witnesses, the woman rushed the business’ assistant, identified only as Amanda, and menaced her with a hypodermic syringe while demanding cash. The woman, believed to be between the ages of 35 and 40, with blonde hair, is still at large.
During a brief struggle between the two women, the would-be robber stabbed the clerk with the syringe, thus convincing her to empty the cash register.
Although the woman had promised the clerk that she would not harm her if she turned over the cash, the victim admitted to the press that she had not believed her and, instead, attempted to talk herself out of an injury by claiming to be pregnant.
“I said to her, ‘please don’t stab me, don’t hurt me, I’m pregnant’,” Amanda explained. “That’s all I could think of, being a woman to another woman. I’m not (pregnant), but that’s all I could think of.”
The robbery is believed to be the second accomplished by the woman that night, with an earlier incident reportedly taking place at 10:30 pm at the Ivanhoe railway station when a 19-year-old woman’s purse being stolen after a scuffle that caused her to also lose her shoes to the thief and gain a wound to her face.
Blood tests were administered to the shop clerk, who must now wait three months to see if she was infected by HIV or other infectious substances due to the needle stick.
