Farrah Abraham Now Writing Erotica
LOS ANGELES – The official cosmic timekeepers appear to have lost track of Farrah Abraham’s 15 minutes of fame. After claiming porn “ruined her sex life,” the agile 22-year-old has exercised her extremely flexible moral compass and written a trilogy of erotic novels reportedly based on her experiences filming two hardcore sex tapes for Vivid Entertainment.
The first book, Celebrity Sex Tape: In the Making, is scheduled for release July 2 by erotica publisher Ellora’s Cave. Books two and three reportedly are under contract but have yet to be assigned a release date.
According to the publisher’s website, In the Making is a ribald tale about a budding Hollywood starlet whose life takes a dramatic turn when a sex tape is leaked to the media.
From the book’s promotional blurb:
I’m like every other person out there: I want to be loved and I want to be happy. But in the words of my best friend, I have to kiss a few frogs along the way. That’s okay, I know what I want and I’m not afraid to go after it, to hell with what other people think. My name is Fallon Opal, and I’m not who everyone thinks I am.
To the world I’m another starlet gone crazy: always traveling, clubbing non-stop, and juggling drug problems and alcohol issues. The truth couldn’t be further from that. I’m on a journey to find myself and I’m going to do it without shame — my way. Sometimes it feels like the world is against me but that won’t stop me from getting mine.
Abraham, ever the modest type, said her goal was to pen a “better” version of E.L. James’ notorious Fifty Shades of Grey. She calls the first book “a sexy, page-turning thriller” and said it will explore “reality television and young stardom, how the media influences our opinions, the intersection of celebrity and sexuality, the real consequences from our promiscuity, and misconceptions about the porn industry.”
Considering her apparent love-hate relationship with the adult entertainment industry, one shudders to imagine what “misconceptions” Abraham may intend to clear up.
“In the Making reveals the truth about being in the limelight as a young celebrity,” Abraham said in a statement distributed to the press on Tuesday. “Writing this series was like therapy. Fallon’s story follows what I’ve gone through recently, much of it witnessed and misunderstood by the public. Book One is an entertaining and sexually charged novel, but it’s also an inside look at the underside of being a reality-TV star that everyone else can relate to.”
The erotic novels are not the former MTV Teen Mom star’s first foray into publishing. Her autobiography, My Teenage Dream Ended, landed on the New York Times bestseller list in 2012.
