ExitBilling.com Offers Alternative Solution for Failed Conversions
YNOT – Fonedata LLC, a developer of mobile and billing applications based in Delaware and Southeast Asia, has launched an alternative billing solution for adult and non-adult premium content websites that collect traffic they cannot convert due to the ubiquitous “billing issues.” ExitBilling.com offers U.S. webmasters $4 per sign-up for referring users who abandon a purchase before completion or whose payment is declined by the referring website’s processor.Rather than lose such customers completely, Exit Billing enables webmasters to offer alternative mobile content, where payment does not require use of a credit or debit card. Instead, Exit Billing levies the charge directly onto the customer’s cell-phone account, using premium SMS as the billing mechanism.
Although premium SMS is well known for billing of mobile content such as ringtones, U.S. mobile networks will not allow the mechanism to be employed when billing adult content. Exit Billing complies with this requirement by offering only non-adult content through the carrier-compliant website LuvSMS.com. The site offers mobile content the company said has been approved by all major U.S. mobile carriers and is appropriate viewing by persons aged 13 or older.
According to developers, the service can be used to monetize normal exit traffic post-purchase, traffic that has tried to submit payment and failed, traffic that changed its mind about a purchase before paying, and underage traffic. Payouts are distributed monthly using PayPal or bank wire.
Set-up is free and the service incurs no monthly fees or operating charges.
A spokesman for the parent company said although Exit Billing currently is available only for U.S. traffic, the service is expected to expand to other countries in the near future.
