YNOT – Twenty winners were named Feb. 25 during the first Adult Entertainment Virtual Awards presentation, part of the Adult Entertainment Virtual Convention.

AEVC, produced by Utherverse and the first trade show of its kind, took place within the realm of a 3D virtual world Feb. 24-26. Like real-world adult industry trade shows, the all-online convention included a keynote address, seminars, parties and exhibits. Unlike real-world shows, attendees and presenters appeared as 3D avatars instead of in the flesh.

Evil Angel, a very real studio in the bricks-and-mortar, mortal realm, captured Porn Studio of the Year honors during the awards show. The studio’s general manager, Christian Mann, delivered the convention’s keynote in cooperation with Wasteland founder Colin Rowntree.

“Considering that AEVC only had a total of 20 awards, and of those only two related to studios or movies, winning Studio of the Year is a big honor,” Mann said. “I’m also grateful to AEVC for offering me an opportunity to be the keynote speaker. I’ve spoken on many panels and delivered a myriad of presentations [in the real world], but I can honestly say that this was the most technologically advanced venue I’ve ever attended.

“My next project is to physically get in shape in order to match my AEVC avatar, which was quite athletic,” he added, apparently somewhat chagrined by his virtual representation’s sex appeal.

Manuel Ferrara, an Evil Angel director and the male lead in the studio’s new erotic vampire epic Voracious, captured the Male Porn Star of the Year AEV Award. Voracious is a continuing adventure presented in webisodes on EvilAngel.com, which operates in partnership with Gamma Entertainment’s FameDollars affiliate program.

The only other honoree to receive two awards was Raven Alexis, who snagged Best Adult Themed Social Center Profile of the Year and the Adult Entertainment Virtual Award.
