Rapidly becoming well known as one of the top adult Webmaster event photographers in our industry, Julius F. Kedvessy, a.k.a. JFK, manages to make it to practically every Webmaster event with camera in tow, where he seemingly manages to be in several places at once capturing the heart and soul of every moment. Speaking as someone who hates to take pictures and would always rather be in them, I personally would find that experiencing life through the lens of a camera would feel cumbersome and detract from overall experiences. Not the case with JFK. Given that he always tells a great story through his camera, I wanted to give him an opportunity to also tell us about the Negril Net Bash in his own words…
“As Bob Marley once said, ‘One love, one heart, let’s join together and feel alright.’ Some of us took those words literally, and headed to Dokk’s 4th annual Negril Net Bash. The event turned out to be an absolute blast, with plenty of business being done at the bar and lounging on the beach. I had people tell me just fresh off their flight, that they had recouped their expenses already just by being on the same flight with other Webmasters. Even before the event had begun!
There were plenty of events to partake in. Jet skis were one of the popular options, as well as scuba diving and parasailing. Dokk (the event organizer) had plenty of sponsors lined up so the events were free to the attendees. One of the highlights was dinner at Rick’s Café sponsored by Lightspeedcash and watching the sunset while divers jumped off the cliffs. Lightspeed Steve once again showed himself to be the daredevil that he is by participating in the diving, along with Poppy from Spread4U and Matt from PSW Billing. My hat goes off to those guys… I wouldn’t have the nerve to jump off a perfectly good 60-foot cliff.
And the events just kept on coming! As it happens, it was Bob Marley’s birthday, with a large two-day concert to celebrate it. The pool party sponsored by Spread4U had great food as well as live entertainment provided by a local band called The Overtakers. When the horseplay began with people getting tossed into the pool, I am glad I was out of grabbing range with my camera! Then it was onto the concert ‘Catch a Fire,’ the 12th annual Bob Marley birthday bash under the stars, featuring such Jamaican notables as Harry Chapman, Bushman and Admiral Tibet. It was an overwhelming selection of great music. Everyone was rocking to the sounds under a huge ganja cloud that covered the entire stadium!
Friday morning it was brunch at Selinas Coffee Bar and Eatery, sponsored by Dravyk and Electra at Allofem.com and Content God. Excellent local fare freshly made, fresh squeezed juices, coffee to die for, and all to the accompanying sounds of The Overtakers. Then it was off to Mayfield Falls, courtesy of Lightspeed. About a dozen of us made the two-hour trip in two vans! When we get there it was pouring rain, but there were no worries as we would all get a lot more soaked in a few minutes. Two guides got us into the river after carefully instructing everyone of the hazardous rapids. Two hours of fun and frolic, and some diving skills seldom seen. Everyone exhausted, we returned to the buses on a bridge you only see in the movies, and about 200 stairs to the final climb. As a pick-me-up, we hit the world famous Mrs. Brown’s for some of her “special” tea.
Off to the Sunset Booze Cruise, sponsored by BigCockContent. Fine music, rum punch, and aloe massages sponsored by Laurel of Hustler Content. The scenery and sunset were truly amazing! There was also a traditional bonfire and hot dog roast, courtesy of HotlipsCash… it felt like the end of summer camp! There was so much more that went on, but the week was like a whirlwind it went by so fast. The worst part of everything was the discovery that we had to go home! It’s all coming to an end! Thanks so much Dokk for all you have done!!!”

Now go check out the pictures in the F.U.B.A.R. gallery… all 1,700+ of them!
If all of that doesn’t make you jealous enough, you can continue to live vicariously though the 50 or 300 attendees (depends on who you talk to) by checking out the very eloquently written coverage from Cyndalie at AdultChamber in this issue. She gives us an extremely well detailed lowdown of her experience from start to finish. You’ll feel like you actually went to Jamaica after reading it. Yeah, right.
So while YNOTBob was off cavorting and having fun in the sun (and yes, he definitely deserved it)… and working too, the rest of us here at YNOT were slaving away, setting up our new Los Angeles office and getting rained out. So in the spirit of shout-outs on our general chat board as well as in this issue of YNOTNews, I’ll throw out one of my own! I’d like to personally thank Mickey and her cohorts over at adult shopping affiliate http://www.sexmerchant.com who all treated me to a lovely evening and dinner last week and talked some business. They also make their own jewelry and were kind enough to make me a pin bearing the YNOT name and logo. Pretty cool stuff they have going on over there! Get to know them…
But lest you think this YNOTNews issue is only about the Negril Net Bash, do not despair!
Actually, getting back on the subject of cameras from way back when in this editorial, I am happy to introduce photographer Jay Russell from Guaranteed-Cash.com who has been shooting pictures specifically for the adult industry for over 15 years. Here he gives some valuable tips on one of the most basic and overlooked concepts of shooting quality pictures… lighting.
Also in this issue we have returning YNOTNews authors Larry Walters from FirstAmendment.com with the first of two parts listing practical tips for all beginning Webmasters (a great refresher course too for seasoned Webmasters!), Lee Traupel from Intelective.com covering his insight on email marketing, and Karen Wilder from AdultWebware.com with her second part (of five) in her Webmaster series on getting closer to the surfer.
And last but certainly not least, an interview with Jason from Silvercash. This guy has a great story to tell, so go and check it out in our In The Spotlight section.
Well, it looks like it’s beginning to dry up a little in my neck of the woods here after being slammed with rain, which is fantastic. No more leaky roof and no more cabin fever.
Enjoy this issue! – LAJ
