eMerchant Pay Forms U.S. Division; Opens Fla. Office
YNOT – UK-based international payment gateway services provider eMerchantPay has opened its first U.S. office. The Boca Raton, Fla., facility will operate as eMerchantPay Corporation, a subsidiary of the parent company.
The company has appointed two payment industry veterans to staff the U.S. office. Garima Shah will serve as head of U.S. sales, and Karl Persaud was named director of business development.
The new Boca Raton office will house sales, sales support and merchant support operations to better meet the needs of American Independent Sales Organizations (ISOs), sales agents and their merchants, a spokesperson said.
“Having an office on U.S. soil is a significant step that will propel eMerchantPay’s global efforts,” said Jonas Reynisson, chairman of the parent company. “Garima Shah and Karl Persaud are excellent additions to the eMerchantPay team, and we look forward to their contributions in helping eMerchantPay rapidly expand and grow in the U.S. online payments marketplace.”
Shah will be responsible for eMerchantPay’s sales in the U.S. and is charged with building market presence to drive new business. She draws on a decade of payment processing experience. Previously, she served as senior vice president of indirect sales for Century Payments, where she was instrumental in forming an ISO and partnership division. Prior to Century Payments, Shah served as vice president of business development for Merchant Processing Services, now part of New Edge Payments, and was a regional vice president for Payment Alliance International, creating a direct sales division during her tenure.
“eMerchantPay has an impressive track record in global online payment processing, and I am honored to have the opportunity to lead U.S. marketplace sales,” she said. “I look forward to expanding the company’s footprint throughout the U.S. market.”
As director of business development, Persaud is responsible for developing ISO and agent reseller relationships throughout the U.S. He got his start in payment processing with Payment Alliance International, where he served in a number of sales management and business development roles over the years.
“I am excited about the opportunity to help ISOs and agents secure merchant accounts for online retailers who want to grow internationally or have previously been unable to qualify,” Persaud said. “It’s always a good situation when you can help ISOs and agents increase revenue through new income streams.”
