The Dungeon Store’s Brittany Wilson Talks Kink on ‘The Weekly Hot Spot’
Brittany Wilson, the Sales and Marketing Director for The Dungeon Store, recently appeared on The Weekly Hot Spot podcast to discuss kinky products, dedicating a half hour to the subject of violet wands and electro play.
Hosted by Mistress Olivia and Ms Erika, The Weekly Hot Spot is a BDSM advice podcast. The show features candid conversations on wide variety of subjects, including BDSM, kink, phone sex, various fetishes and “even vanilla erotic pleasure.”
The Dungeon Store is a woman-owned, second-generation business, offering a curated collection of pleasure products. Many of the floggers, paddles and electric gear carried by The Dungeon Store are handcrafted by professionals in the BDSM community.
“We’re a good, old-fashioned, small, family business,” Wilson said. “We are very mindful and very thoughtful about what products make sense. What standard of quality we want to see before we carry something and have an aggressive mind towards high-quality goods. We span a range of prices and product types.”
Wilson discussed Dungeon Store products like the Flameless Wax Play Kits and Deer Tanned Leather Floggers.
“You take a cow hide, and you tan it as if it were a deer hide, at which point you have elicited the most soft, supple, texture you can get out of a cow hide,” Wilson explained. “It’s a great flogger for beginners and intermediates. It maneuvers very well. The falls stay together when throwing. A reliable classic. And it comes in every color.”
The conversation also covered The Dungeon Store’s collection of books, which include tomes on BDSM techniques, role play and the “kink mindset,” along with books on the occult and spirituality.
“I want people to go and get this book,” Olivia told the audience at one point. “This Curious Human Phenomenon by Peter Masters, it is one of my all-time favorite books ever, and it changed how I interact with BDSM because it moved it away from the implements… it went into the psychology and it is absolutely brilliant.”
“It’s not about how to hit, how to tie up. It’s not a how-to book,” Wilson added. “It is a discussion of the psychological phenomena that are in play, whenever we engage in various power exchange dynamics.”
In the second episode, Wilson went into greater detail about electrical play and the violet wand accessories available from The Dungeon Store.
“Electro is less of its own fetish and more about bringing electricity into all of your pre-existing fetishes,” Wilson said. “If extreme pain is your fetish, great. That’s doable. If needles and medical is your fetish, excellent. They conduct electricity. If rope is your fetish, I’ve got fantastic news. Guess what, there’s conductive rope. If flogging is your fetish, you’re in luck. There are conductive floggers. So, once you get into electro, it’s just a layer you get to put on top of all of your pre-existing fetishes.”
Wilson also offered advice on aftercare from play with a violet wand, noting that what the wand is doing is “pulling ozone out of your skin.”
“You’re going to want to treat it like a sunburn,” Wilson said. “Aftercare should be really heavy on aloe-based lotions. Just use that on everywhere you’ve played. Just get it in your skin, and that’s the best way.”
