The January 2006 AVN Awards are just around the corner and Digital Underground is looking forward to them even more than usual, with 39 nominations in 29 categories to add to the company’s impressive list of accomplishments.The big nomination winner for the company is unquestionably Joone’s “Pirates,” which earned a record setting adult industry total of 24 nominations including Best Video, Best DVD, Best High Definition Production, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Editing, Best Sex Scene, Best Special Effects, and Best Director.

Additionally, Robby D’s “Jacks’ Playground” series received another nomination nod for Best Gonzo Series, as well as Best Gonzo Release. Included in the Interactive DVD category is Joone’s “Virtual Sex with Teagan Presley.”

The company’s creative marketing techniques did not go unnoticed. In fact, they earned Digital Playground an additional four nominations for Best Packaging, Best Company Image, Best Marketing – Title, and Best Marketing – Website.

Company president, Samantha Lewis, says that she and the rest of the Digital Playground crew “appreciate the notoriety and attention” that the award nominations represent.

The 23rd Annual AVN Awards Show will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2006 in Las Vegas – and will showcase yet another Digital Underground success: Jesse Jane, this year’s award show host.
