Denver Fans Turn to Porn for Post-game Consolation
By Peter Berton
CYBERSPACE – What did despondent Denver Broncos fans do after the Seattle Seahawks wiped the gridiron with their team during Super Bowl XLVIII? According to the server stats for one large adult tube site, they turned to porn to release their frustration.
While Seattle’s birds of prey engaged in some epic Bronco-busting, Pornhub recorded a 51-percent drop in traffic from Denver and a 61-percent drop from the Seahawks’ roost in Seattle. Statewide, Colorado evidenced an 18-percent drop in traffic while Washington State’s traffic declined by 20 percent.
“The national drop to the site [during the Super Bowl] was 6 percent, which is significant for a country of 314 million people,” a Pornhub statement noted.
After the game, things changed. Traffic from depressed Denver fans to Pornhub rose by 11 percent, while Seattle-based traffic dropped another 17 percent. Presumably, it’s inconvenient to watch porn while celebrating a National Football League title win.
