Has the Death of Adult Ads Made it Harder to Break Into Porn?
Ever since adult job postings on classified ad web sites have died after new restrictions have been made to them, such as phone number and credit card verification. It has been quite difficult now for new models to come across gigs in the porn industry.
Ad posts on classified web sites was probably the most common way models have gotten their start in the business. Rather it was a porn agency, recruiters, studios, or directors themselves behind the ads. It was definitely a lot easier for industry professionals and aspiring porn stars to connect directly. As well as allowing anybody to know when and where there were adult job openings or representation opportunities out there.
But now that has changed, and it certainly made things a lot more difficult to break into the jizz bizz especially if you are a straight male. This is simply because you would need some sort of experience before making your way into the big leagues. And there is no easier way to get your start than finding an amateur gig which you were able to land by answering one of those ads that were looking for new male talent. Even though it hasn’t been that long ago since this change, it still seems like it’s been this way for quite some time now.
So now the question is, how do new models find their start in the porn industry now that ads have been harder to come about?
Surprisingly, it’s now the opposite of how things used to work back then. A lot of new talent these days are actually discovered and scouted out on social media platforms, web-cam web sites, or even approached in person. Of course that is not to say that the only way you to get into porn nowadays is to accidentally get discovered. Sure there are many other ways but it is becoming more common to see models getting recruited into the industry more often than the ones going out of their way to answer ads.
