Dan Miller Returns to Adult Industry Roots
CHATSWORTH, Calif. – After an absence of five years, veteran adult industry journalist Dan Miller has returned to his adult-industry roots at iconic publication AVN. Miller has taken the reins as managing editor of AVN’s suite of publications, including AVN magazine and AVN.com.
A career journalist, Miller cut his teeth working as a sportswriter for the San Gabriel Valley Tribune in West Covina, Calif., and the East Valley Tribune in Mesa, Ariz. He joined the AVN staff in 2001 as an associate editor. After holding positions including executive editor and vice president of the content division, Miller was named editor-in-chief in 2006.
“It’s great to be back at the place where I started this journey in adult,” he told YNOT. “Sometimes our careers take us down different paths, but we carry those experiences with us everywhere we go.”
Between stints at AVN, Miller served as editor-in-chief for a rival publisher.
“I have some amazing memories from my time [there], where I feel like I grew as both a person and as a professional,” he said. “I’m ready for this next challenge, though, and I couldn’t be more excited to be returning to my roots in the business.
“I’m looking forward to picking up right where I left off with some familiar faces and a few who I’ll be working with for the first time,” he continued. “I’m also grateful to everyone who has supported me over the years.”
