Dallas Cowboy: “I’m No Porn Star”
DALLAS, TX — Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens never seems to be far from controversy. One of the National Football league’s leading scorers, he’s known almost as much for his tendency to let his mouth get him in trouble as for his sticky hands and fleet feet. He’s fairly unrepentant about the mouth, having told fans, teammates and team owners in three cities that he has a right to speak his mind. He seems to revel in the frequently negative attention. One type of attention Owens doesn’t like, however, is the attention he’s gotten since TheDirty.com posted a picture of him in the background at a Bang Bros. porn shoot. Owens was all smiles in the picture, but once TMZ and other gossip sources began reporting about the image, Owens threatened to sue the website if the photo wasn’t removed with the same sort of speed he uses to dash across the end zone.
According to an attorney for the Dallas wideout, who willingly has appeared in publicity pictures with Playboy Playmates, Owens objected to TheDirty’s photo caption, which reportedly read, “What do you know, another football player who does not take his offseason seriously.”
The attorney fired off a cease-and-desist letter to TheDirty demanding the site “immediately remove the photographs and the references from your website [and] state to your public that these photographs linking Mr. Owens to porn were not done with his consent.”
Owens isn’t the only NFLer to be caught in a compromising position by TheDirty. According to AOL Sports, TheDirty also has published “embarrassing” images of Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinhart and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith. However, Owens seems to be the first non-quarterback to have been selected for the honor.
