Détente: Arabs Get Off on Israeli Porn
ISRAEL — All is not negative about the Arab-Israeli conflict: According to owners of adult websites in Israel, strife between the two groups has precipitated a demand among Arabs for porn featuring the hot women of the Israeli army and the Mossad.Hebrew adult content providers report that between 2 and 10 percent of their website traffic arrives from “enemy states” like Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Jordan, Egypt and Palestine. The traffic is so convertible, they say, that many have begun offering versions of the sites in Arabic.
Among the most popular videos on Nir Shahar’s Ratuv (“wet”) website is one depicting a parody of a notorious spy affair. In the clip, female agents grill their victims using erotic “torture.”
“In the past several months we [have seen] an increase in traffic from countries that have no diplomatic ties with Israel, including Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Egypt,” Shahar told Haber27.com. “We received many thank you messages from Arab surfers, many of whom asked if the female soldiers really serve in the [Israeli Defense Forces].”
Another adult webmaster said even religious and legal sanctions against pornography don’t deter Muslim surfers.
“In many places Israel is blocked; at times the entire suffix ‘.co.il’ is blocked,” Tzahi, who operates Domina, told Haber27. Domina, called “the most popular adult site in Israel,” receives 10 percent of its traffic from Arab states, according to server logs. “Users connect through proxy servers and reach us that way.”
Gil Naftali, owner and operator SexV, told Haber27 “We get hundreds of hits from surfers that live in countries where porn is prohibited. We don’t have an Arabic version because users log in to watch photos and video clips that require no explanations.”
Naftali also said his site received more than 2,000 hits from the Saudi capital, Riad, in October alone. Arab surfers spend an average of 17 and one-half minutes on the site, he added.
Is an Arab thirst for Israeli porn a sign the long-standing diplomatic freeze may thaw? Not exactly, the webmasters said.
“Israeli and Arab surfers do not communicate on the website. Ideology? No, it’s purely business,” Tzahi told Haber27. “Porn will not bring about peace, but at least we get some money out of our enemies’ pockets.”
