Cybersocket Deemed “Obscene” by Commission Junction
LOS ANGELES, CA – Affiliate manager Commission Junction labeled Cybersocket.com obscene, removed the site from its network and appropriated earnings generated through its system, according to a statement released by Cybersocket.Cybersocket, which hosts no sexual adult content but instead serves as an internet search engine similar to Yahoo! and Google, repeatedly sought clarification of Commission Junction’s definition and determining of obscene material, but received no answer. According to a Cybersocket press release, Commission Junction ultimately broke off contact with Cybersocket, refusing to explain its actions or pay Cybersocket money owed. The company claims Commission Junction also refused to define “obscene” when contacted by Cybersocket.
The move has created confusion, since Commission Junction is continuing to allow membership for top adult sex sites featuring graphic material, including those affiliated with a major gay portal.
“They’re obviously going after the little guy because they think we won’t fight back,” said Cybersocket publisher Morgan Sommer. “One wonders if they make a pattern of kicking off smaller sites to pocket money that should be paid out.”
