Cybernet Expo Attendees to Get Kinky with Kink.com Armory Building Tour
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — San Francisco is a city filled with many sensory delights ranging from incredible eateries to feminist peep shows to historic buildings with sometimes sensational histories. During the June Cybernet Expo, the city’s famed Armory building, purchased in 2006 and converted by Kink.com, will make itself available for an exclusive industry meet and greet tour. The world’s largest BDSM entertainment network will host the private “Make Porn Not War” soiree to registered Cybernet Expo attendees only, who will enjoy an evening of “fun, entertainment and hardcore schmoozing while checking out live performances on themes that showcase the various Kink.com websites,” according to a company press release.
This will be the first opportunity for both KinkyDollars.com affiliates and Cybernet attendees to look at the new Kink.com suites where the majority of the company’s content is produced. Guests will explore the building, which may have the most unusual erotica studio around, with the assistance of costumed guides.
“The Armory is more than just a gorgeous building,” Kink.com founder and CEO Peter Acworth explains. “It holds a world of history. Our conversion of the Armory from a military site into a sex-positive and kink-positive entertainment studio can send a powerful message that personal liberation helps create a safe, sane, and productive society. This is a chance to celebrate that with our affiliates and other industry partners attending Cybernet while showing off the castle that we at Kink get to work in!”
Constructed in 1912 – 1914 as a replacement arsenal for the United States National Guard’s previous building, which had been destroyed in the 1906 earthquake, the Armory is one of San Francisco’s most notable buildings and a Class 2 Landmark in the National Register of Historic Places. Aside from its military duties, the building has housed 1920s prizefights, rehearsal and set construction for the San Francisco Opera, an a spaceship interior for the motion picture Star Wars. Kink.com says that the Moorish Revival architecture is intended to “convey the impression of a heavily armored and forbidding Moorish fortress.”
Apparently it does an excellent job, because YNOT Network president Connor Young observes that “My jaw dropped when I saw this place. The guys at Kink.com were nice enough to give me a tour of the Armory a few months ago. When you see it, you’ll know why it’s the perfect location for shooting quality fetish content. It’s impossible to see this place and not be just blown away. I can’t wait to see the reaction of Cybernet Expo attendees when they see this place.”
Those interested in attending the Kink.com “Make Porn Not War” tour and marvel at its 200,000 square-foot size and multiple evocative shooting environments must register for Cybernet Expo. This can be done via the www.CybernetExpo.com website and visit www.Kink.com/Cybernet for details about the tour.
Cybernet Expo 2008 will be held in San Francisco’s Golden Gateway hotel from June 10th – 12th. Early bird hotel room and badge registration for the event is available now.
