Customer Service for Free Sites
Set Up A Personality“…one thing seems to basically be lacking among all of them – good customer service”
I have been searching the web for some time now comparing free sites as I am starting my very first site, a story site designed for women. It has come to my attention that while there are several different factors that go into a free site, one thing seems to basically be lacking among all of them – good customer service. It seems that everyone I talk to who has a free site, or is building one, doesn’t think that this is a necessary evil, but rather something reserved for paysites or AVS sites. I have to wonder why this is. Are the surfers any more experienced with free sites than with paysites? Don’t they have problems? Do free sites always work perfectly all the time? Or is it that free site owners just don’t care if their surfers are happy?
I have yet to figure out this method of thinking, as it appears (to me at least) that if anything, free sites tend to have more little problems creep up on them than most paysites I have seen. I found an infinite number of sites that had broken links, images, pages that didn’t load properly etc and yet there was no way to even contact the webmaster to even warn them of these problems from a fellow webmasters POV. But what is it that a free site really needs to provide good customer service for its surfers?
First and foremost I have to say that the biggest problem I found on most of the free sites out there was a lack of contact with surfers. After searching every nook and cranny of several sites, I couldn’t find a single e-mail address. Not even I little link at the bottom of the page. This is probably the most important aspect of ANY business. People in general like to know that if they have a problem, or even just a comment they have someone important they can tell – in this case the webmaster. It makes surfers comfortable to know that there is a person behind the site.
Set Up A Personality
A good way to do this is to set up a “personality” who is the basis of your site and write up a SMALL bio on it. For example, if you are running a teen site, set up a nice little bio – “HI! I am “Sabrina” ! Welcome to my site. I am a 1\’ year old from wherever, USA and love to show my body off! Come check out these pics of me and my friends! If you have any problems or comment please e-mail me at sabrina@whereverusa.com. Enjoy the show!” (Having a picture of someone who matches this descriptor is a big plus!) This will give them a person to identify with and a means for them to let you know if something is not working. Also, it can be a great way to drive them to your sponsor site – under your sponsor banners you can use phrases like – “Cum and see more of my friends getting nasty – Click Here” This works especially well with girl/girl pics!
“The next thing is simplicity. Even though your site may be easy for you to get around, is it for your surfers?”
Keep it Simple
The next thing is simplicity. Even though your site may be easy for you to get around, is it for your surfers? Most webmasters have a considerably better grasp on how to navigate the web and sites than your average surfer. If you traffic is getting thrown around and cant make heads or tails of where they are, chances are they are never coming back – either out of exasperation or just because they cant find their way back to where they started. Make sure that somewhere on your home page there is a reminder for them to bookmark your page. This is undeniably important. If they can get back to your home page, they are going to be more apt to click on your sponsor banners – they have seen the content… they want more!
Finally, just listen to what your surfers want. If one surfer e-mails you for more cumshot pics, that means that there are several more who just haven’t bothered to write. Give them a little of what they want… ease em up and send them off to your sponsor for more!
As for me, I am happily working away on my site and as I hear from my own surfers, I will share what I have learned. The bottom line for me, and I am sure most of you is that if the surfers are on your site, its because you have something they want – porn… and they have something you want – money… so make them happy!
