This tutorial in Photoshop will teach you how to create some text that is transparent and looks like glass or has a “fluid” appearance.
Creating glass text is not really that difficult. It just takes time and some knowledge of Photoshop’s layers. By the end of this tutorial you will be able to create some text that is semi-transparent and resembles liquid or glass. Let’s get started!
Step #1. Open up Photoshop and pick a background color (I chose a pastel blue) and then write your words on a new layer. You can write whatever text you want but I suggest you use a thick font.
Once you have your text how you want it, you can move on to step #2.
Step #2. This next step is an easy one. Simply add a drop shadow with the following settings:
Blend Mode: Multiply, Opacity: 50% (color black), Distance: 5, Spread: 0, Size: 2. The following should be your result:
Step #3. Now we will add an inner shadow. The settings I used are:
Blend Mode: Multiply, Opacity: 50, Distance: 2, Choke: 0, Size 8.
Step #4. The next step is to add an outerglow of white. To do this we apply the following settings:
Blend Mode: Overlay, Opacity: 75, Noise: 0, Color: white, Spread: 10, Size: 6, Range: 50. This should achieve the following result:
Step #5. Now we need to add an inner glow. Here are the settings you need to apply:
Blend Mode: Multiply, Opacity: 50, Noise: 0, Color: black, Choke: 0, Size: 10. This is what you should have:
Step #6. In our final step we’ll apply a bevel and emboss style using the following settings:
Style: Inner Bevel, Technique: Smooth, Depth: 200%, Direction: Up, Size: 8, Soften: 0, Angle: 120, Altitude: 70, Gloss Contour: (see screen below), Highlight Mode: Screen (color white), Opacity: 100, Shadow Mode: overlay (color black), Opacity: 30.
Voila! You should have created a similar looking image if you followed the steps correctly…
Now take this and apply it to your next cumshot site design and add some liquid type effects!
