Courageous Law Enforcement Officers Seize Sex Toys

JACKSON, MS — Working as a police officer is dangerous business and the Jackson Police Vice and Narcotics unit of Jackson, MI recently found out exactly how dangerous it can be when they bravely arrested two porn shop employees and took possession of several bags of sex toys. Given the risk that sex toys pose to the community at large, the importance of the autumn bust of Adult Video and Books Store can’t be over emphasized.

James K. Salters, the owner of the business, was arrested due to an outstanding domestic violence warrant and, in a move clearly designed to show that Alabama is not the only area that takes such things seriously, was also charged with two counts of selling sex toys. His employee, Jayson Paige, was also arrested and accused of one count of selling sex toys.

Section 97-29-105 of the Mississippi Code states that knowingly selling, advertising, publishing, or exhibiting three-dimensional objects created and marketed for the stimulation of human genitals is illegal. Salters’ crime against nature was discovered when his shop sold toys to an undercover police officer participating in a sting on the shop after a citizen overheard a radio advertisement for the store.

This is not the first time that Salters has been arrested for violating the state statute. Last July, during what may have been a lull in serious crime, the police department sent its officers out into the city in order to confiscate sex toys. It was at least the third time that Salters store had been targeted by law enforcement.

Paige, a cashier for the shop, shared his frustration and disgust with the local press, stating that customers “don’t leave here and go rape nobody. They don’t leave here and go rob banks.”

In spite of growing concerns about global warming, the police department admits that it usually just burns any sex toys it confiscates during raids.

Officers vow that although they weren’t able to arrest Salters during the summer raid, since he wasn’t in his store, they will continue to return to arrest him every time he dares to sell a sex toy.
