JAPAN — Although most Japanese citizens don’t even have time for sex, at least one managed to find plenty of time to get into women’s underwear. Approximately 3,977 pair of panties, to be exact.In addition to his copious collection of women’s delicate drawers, 54-year-old Shigeo Kodama also managed to accrue 355 bras and 10 pair of stockings during his many panty raids.

That’s not bad, especially given that 34.5-percent of Japanese couples are so burdened by work that they don’t have sex with one another more often than once every four weeks, if that often.

Kodama’s job as a construction worker, on the other hand, brought him into close contact with a large number of bedrooms and their intimate contents.

Police believe that Kodama often used his climbing skills to enter homes from which he pilfered ladies underwear. When arrested in February, he was found to be in possession of more than 4,000 pieces of stolen lingerie.

As a spokesman for the city of Hiroshima explains it, “Since he was a construction worker, as long as he had a place to put his feet, he was able to climb, so he had no trouble getting to the second floor of apartment buildings.”
