Community: IVD, ECN Invite You to Ditch Your Razors this Movember
HIGHTSTOWN, NJ – East Coast News (ECN) and International Video Distributors (IVD) are giving back this November through its Movember initiative. Members of the industry are invited to participate in No-Shave November, by ditching the razor and pledging donations for the Movember Foundation.
The Movember Foundation seeks to address prostate cancer at a global level and brings leading experts together from around the world to collaborate on solutions that will fundamentally change the way men are treated and supported. The foundation focuses its efforts in three priority areas — prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention — in order to ensure that each project it funds is a step towards its vision for the future.
IVD and ECN staff members will refrain from shaving for the month of November, raise funds and donate proceeds in an effort to raise awareness for men’s health.
“We are asking our friends and partners to join our effort in this great cause!” said Anthony Pingicer of East Coast News. “Men’s health is in a crisis with prostate cancer rates set to double in the next 15 years so we are joining together with the Movember Foundation to raise awareness and call attention to the steps men can take to reduce their risk and battle this growing health crisis!”
As part of Movember, ECN’s Peter LaMantia will shave the beard he has been growing for the past 10 years so Movember starts off with a clean slate. “I am very fond of my beard so I will definitely miss it when it’s gone, but raising awareness of prostate cancer is very important to me personally and to a lot of people who have been impacted by cancer in its many forms,” LaMantia said.

Bathmate and Classic Brands have also joined in the fight this month by providing shaving essentials to participants of IVD and ECN’s Movember Initiative.
