Colin Farrell Reaches Agreement with Ex-Girlfriend, Prevents Release of Sex Tape
NEW YORK, NY – According to an attorney for former Playboy Playmate Nicole Narain, the model and her ex-boyfriend actor Colin Farrel have reached an “amicable settlement” in their dispute over a sex tape the couple filmed together approximately three years ago.“We were able to completely resolve it,” Narain’s attorney, Leodis Matthews, told the New York Daily News, adding that the terms of the agreement are being kept confidential.
According to the account in the Daily News, the negotiation sessions between Narain and Farrell were held on Easter Sunday and marked the first time the former lovers had seen each other face to face since word about the video’s existence, and rumors that Narain intended to sell it, first surfaced last year.
Farell filed suit against Narain last July, alleging that she was trying to distribute the sex tape through a third party, in violation of a prior agreement the couple made that the footage would be for private viewing only.
In the suit, Farrell demanded both compensatory and general damages, as well as the return of all copies of the tape to his possession. Subsequently, a judge issued an injunction blocking Narain from distributing the tape, although footage taken from the tape did crop up online in January, on the website DirtyColin.com.
Following the issuance of the injunction, Narain filed a motion to dismiss Farrell’s lawsuit against her in an attempt to remove legal obstacles preventing the sale and distribution of the tape. Last month, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elihu Berle denied Narain’s motion, ruling that there was enough evidence to support Farrell’s claim for the issue to be taken to trial.
While the settlement has apparently removed Narain as an object of Farrell’s legal claims, the actor is still pursuing his lawsuit against Internet Commerce Group (ICG), the parent company of XXXCash.com, with whom Narain allegedly inked a deal to release the tape.
The trial pitting Farrell against ICG is scheduled to kick off on July 21st in Los Angeles Superior Court.
