Clinic Network Begins Testing New STI Exposure Database
MIAMI – A nationwide network of clinics that provides health-testing services to the adult entertainment industry has begun beta-testing a new database it hopes will make intra-industry exposure matrices easier to compile during outbreaks of sexually transmitted infections.
Talent Testing Service Inc., an approved provider for routine health tests under the Free Speech Coalition’s Performer Availability Screening Service system, believes its TTS HealthWatch database will provide a more accurate, quicker picture of potential exposure scenarios than currently is available. The database, compiled with the assistance of producers, agents and performers, represents an ongoing effort to track who has performed with whom and when.
“By entering this information in the database, a generational testing tree can be produced within seconds, thus permitting a rapid response during an industry moratorium when callbacks are initiated,” said TTS President and Chief Executive Officer Sixto Pacheco.
To cast the widest possible net, TTS has opened the system to anyone in the industry who wishes to participate, whether or not they utilize TTS clinics for their testing needs.
“TTShw has been built to have a system of checks and balances,” Pacheco said. “Production information received from producers, agents and talent will permit the generational tree created to be more robust, avoiding any splintering in the identification and testing of possible infected cases.”
For the initial round of beta-testing, TTS sought input from a small group of production companies. Agents and talent will be included in the next round.
“Obtaining feedback from these three stakeholders during this process is as important as the system itself,” Pacheco noted. “It is expected that by the end of the first quarter of 2014, the system will be up and operational at a national level.”

“2013 was the year of [production] moratoriums for the adult industry,” said Pacheco. “We believe that the industry as a whole can manage these shutdowns swiftly and efficiently with the use of the TTShw program.”
