Classic Superheroes to get Vivid Porn Parody Treatment
YNOT – Holy erection, Batman!Vivid-Superhero, a new imprint from Vivid Entertainment, promises to bring to DVD the sexual prowess of classic graphic-novel characters who take the occasional break from saving the world in order to vanquish the evil of unrequited lust.
Exposing heretofore hidden assets and talents of superheroes like The Green Hornet, Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Thor, the Fantastic Four and the Incredible Hulk, lead director Axel Braun intends to reveal what besides muscles bulges beneath the skin-tight spandex and billowing capes of revered crime fighters.
These guys may have to go back to fighting crime just to cool off.
Why someone didn’t settle on the idea earlier boggles the mind. Honestly: Who hasn’t recognized the barely disguised adolescent-wet-dream subtext on the pages of comic books or rendered in the form of a bulked-up actor on-screen?
“The parodies under this new imprint will pay tribute to the world’s most popular comic heroes,” said Vivid founder and co-chairman Steven Hirsch. “Axel already started preproduction on a parody of Superman.
“We made the decision to create the imprint after working with Axel on Batman XXX: A Porn Parody, an Axel Braun Productions movie to be distributed by Vivid,” Hirsch added. “Axel truly did an amazing job with it, and we agreed that together we could mine the really rich treasure of superheroes and have a lot of fun doing it.”
Braun’s Batman, a takeoff on the campy 1960s television series, is scheduled for release May 24. The director said television and movies provide fertile ground for XXX parodies. Grease XXX, The Godfather XXX and The Addams Family XXX are in preproduction for Vivid now and should debut later this year.
“I honestly couldn’t be more excited,” said Braun. “Working with Vivid is an incredible experience, and with this new imprint I’ll have all the creative latitude to deliver quality productions that will appeal to the huge fan base that exists for these iconic figures.”
What is not quite so certain is how the league of extraordinary publishers will respond. The Green Hornet Inc., Marvel Characters Inc., DC Comics General Partnership and Paramount Pictures Corporation have yet to weigh in on the sexually explicit representation of their trademarks.
