Cindy Margolis Finally Bares (Almost) All for Playboy
CHICAGO, IL — Cindy Margolis, once the self-proclaimed “most downloaded woman on the internet,” appears poised for a return to the top of the bandwidth meter – via her first-ever full nude pictorial. In an interview with CNN, Margolis said her decision to pose for Playboy (in the December issue, on stands now) was “literally 20 years in the making.”
“I’ve always prided myself in keeping my clothes on, being the girl next door,” Margolis told CNN. “I’ve had the number-one downloaded Web site and for years I’ve been known as the ‘Queen of the Internet’ in the Guinness Book of World Records, America Online, Yahoo, keeping my clothes on, and I’ve been very proud of that.”
Margolis added that every couple of years, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner would contact her to ask that she pose for the magazine and “I would very graciously decline, because my mom would kill me, and I thought it was more mysterious keeping my clothes on.”
Why the change of heart? Well, she’s doing it for the children, in a manner of speaking.
“I am the celebrity spokesperson for Resolve, the national infertility association, and my three precious children were born through infertility procedures,” Margolis explained to CNN. “I struggled for many years trying to have children. My beautiful son was born through in vitro fertilization. I had my beautiful twins via a surrogate. So I wanted to give back.”
Portions of the sales from December’s issue of the magazine will go to support Resolve, Margolis said, noting that “Our point is that America is so family oriented and President Bush is very pro-family, but so many people have to leave America to have their families, and that’s not really fair.”
“Our hope is to help at least 20 to 30 families out there to have their precious babies,” Margolis added, observing that the costs of infertility treatment run very high.
“Infertility costs an average of about $16 – 20,000 per procedure, and you don’t always get pregnant the first time,” Margolis said. “I had to go through it seven times. And adoption and surrogacy are not covered through insurance companies. I call my children ‘My Hundred Thousand Dollar Babies Before They Were Even Born!’”
Although Margolis appears completely nude, fans hoping for shots that emphasize her posterior may be disappointed; Margolis’ photo spread is butt-pic-free.
“I didn’t want it (her ass) in there,” Margolis told the New York Post. “I wasn’t happy with it.”
Margolis added that, although she was very proud of all the pictures, “I’m not an ass woman.”
Margolis was also in the news earlier this month, after striking a deal to serve as a representative for TropicalPoker.com, a gaming website that offers a variety of fixed, pot, and no limit poker games.
According to a press release issued by TropicalPoker.com, Margolis will “represent the Tropical Poker brand in the press, media interviews, poker events and appearances, as well as the 2007 World Series of Poker.”
The release also states that “fans of Cindy will also be available to play poker and chat with her online at Tropical Poker.”
“We are very excited to be working with Cindy Margolis,” said Cynthia Popov, public relations manager for TropicalPoker.com. “She has tremendous popularity both on and off the Internet, and we are thrilled to have her represent us in the media, at special events and in the online community.”
“I am positive that the Tropical Poker brand will suit me very well, and I look forward to being a representative for them,” Margolis stated in the press release. “I couldn’t be happier to join the Tropical Poker team.”
The Queen of the Internet has also hinted that the current Playboy spread may not be her last.
“Sophia Loren posed nude at 72,” Margolis noted to the Post, adding “if I look as good as her at that age, I’ll do it.”
