Chris Alex Takes 1st At YNOT GP Phoenix For 2nd Straight Year
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – For the second straight year, hometown favorite Chris Alex of Way3 Hosting has taken home first place at the leg of the YNOT Grand Prix held at the Phoenix Forum, in a race which featured plenty of spin-outs, but thankfully no serious crashes.
Vince from TGirlDirectory was the runner-up, while third place was seized by Paul Kluzak from CCBill. Vince also clocked the fastest individual lap, turning in an impressive time of 29.74 seconds, when the field’s median average was over 32 seconds.
Sponsored by JuicyAds, BongaCash, Studio20, International Processing Solution and AWSummit, the race at the Phoenix Forum was the second of the four legs which comprise the ninth season of the YNOT GP.
Most importantly, the 40 drivers and dozens of others in attendance as spectators had a great time at the event, which race organizer and YNOT co-owner Jay Kopita said “went smooth as silk.”
“Everyone got to do 2 races, including a 14-lap practice round and the 14-lap qualifier round,” Kopita added. “There were the typical bumps and bruises, but no major wipeouts.”
Women were well-represented in the field, with the best lap time being produced by model Nikki Sequoia at 32.09. In a somewhat less distinguished acknowledgement, local Phoenix-area producer Jay West was termed the “most dangerous driver” – after being “black-flagged” and disqualified from the race.
In addition to garnering points which put them on the leader board and in competition for the grand prize of $1000 which will be issued to the points leader following the fourth and final leg of the YNOT GP, the winners in Phoenix got their pick of the prizes offered by event sponsor Online IPS.
The prizes offered by Online IPS included a Sonos Play, a compact wireless speaker for streaming music, a JORLAI rechargeable suitcase turntable (which came bundled with two classic albums , Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Led Zeppelin I) and a DBPOWER MJX X400W FPV Drone.
None of the finalists in the Phoenix race were among the winners at the first leg of the YNOT GP held in Lisbon earliest month, meaning it’s still a wide-open contest for the $1000 grand prize, going into the third leg of the GP, which will run at the AWSummit in Constanta, Romania on June 5. The YNOT GP leaderboard will be updated soon, so participants will know where they stand well in advance of the third leg.
“The competition is fierce during throughout theses races, but the real point here is to have a great time,” Kopita said. “On both points, the Phoenix leg was very successful and we’re looking forward to another great race at the AWSummit this summer.”
