CEO of Private Media Group Helps Fight AIDS and Sexual Violence in Africa
BARCELONA, SPAIN — Some would consider two-wheeled, off-road tour of the Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert to be quite enough excitement for one trip — but not Berth Milton. In addition to leaving Barcelona on October 1st in order to see the mountain range that divides the Mediterranean and Atlantic coastlines from the world’s largest hot desert, he plans to help to stop the spread of AIDS and to encourage the spread of equal rights in Africa.Pretty ambitious for a pornographer, which is what Berth Milton is.
Milton’s 16-day off-road trip will only be a warm-up for the real thing; a far longer charity trip scheduled for next year that will see the CEO of Private Media Group travel through the entire continent of Africa.
During both trips, Milton, inspired and motivated in part by his friend and CEO of Zemtex Medical, Dave Moran, will hand out condoms, medical supplies, and monetary donations to several ONGs, hospitals, and medical centers.
The hand-out, which started as a brainstorm between Berth and his friend Thomas, is part of Zemtex Medical’s Drive for Africa, a celebrity golf tournament aimed at stopping the spread of AIDS and promoting equal rights for women.
The Drive for Africa tournament will be held in March of 2007 and, through collaborations with the United Nations and Red Cross, all of its proceeds will go toward AIDS prevention in Africa. Berth will then take the supplies and donations to various medical facilities along his African tour route. The monetary donations will include funds contributed by Milton’s personal friends and professional associates.
Those interested in following Berth’s travels can do so by visiting www.PrivateLifestyle.com/africa, where blog entries and photos from and about the trip will be posted as available. Individuals and companies that wish to make pledges can do so by following a donor link on the site.
Given the delicate nature of Berth’s travels and mission, the identities of the recipient medical centers and hospitals will not be revealed until after they have received their donations, although Milton and Zemtex Medical say that they will focus on those which provide services to children with AIDS and abused women.
