CCBill Supports Sommer in AIDS/LifeCycle Ride 2015
TEMPE, Ariz. – For the fifth consecutive year, global e-commerce solutions provider CCBill will back a rider in the annual AIDS/LifeCycle endurance bicycling event. The ride draws attention to and raises funds for the fight against HIV/AIDS.
CCBill’s charitable donation will be made on behalf of Cybersocket President Morgan Sommer. This is Sommer’s fifth year to participate in the event. His goal is to raise $20,000.
“It is our privilege and honor to make this contribution for Morgan’s participation, and in doing so, also assist in the advancement of the greater cause as a whole,” said Gary Jackson, managing vice president of sales and internet markets for CCBill. “AIDS continues to have a major impact on the nation and world, and this event continues to play an important role in increasing public awareness about HIV/AIDS, and also providing direct help for those who need it most.
“We are humbled by Morgan’s dedication to this ride and cause,” Jackson added. “We are cheering on him and his teammates, and we encourage others to join in offering their support.”
AIDS/LifeCycle 2015 is a 545-mile distance bicycle ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles, taking place between May 31 and June 6. Donations directly affect the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS and are used to provide essential testing, treatment and education services to the communities served by the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and many smaller organizations around the U.S.
“This event is truly amazing,” Sommer said. “It brings people together from all walks of life with a common goal of helping others and in an atmosphere of fitness, fun and cooperation. Donations go directly to help people who need and cannot afford treatment for AIDS/HIV.
“Many members of our industry supported me in this, and for this I am immensely grateful,” he added. “Our industry community is filled with good-hearted and generous people. I like to think about the people who have demonstrated their support while I am pedaling up hour long climbs. It is incredibly motivating. CCBill and others help to keep me inspired to continue doing the training and finish this year’s ride.”
