CB-X Creates New Dept. to Battle Bootleggers
LAS VEGAS – Thanks to the internet and the rise of digital piracy, the days of video counterfeiting may be all but over, but pleasure product manufacturers still contend with knockoffs at an alarming rate.
One male chastity device creator is taking the battle to the crooks — in court.
CB-X Male Chastity’s new Brand Protection Department recently won a case against a U.K. company that had hijacked its trademarks. The unnamed company has now transferred the intellectual property back to CB-X.
“We have been involved in fighting bootleggers for over 10 years and have received multiple judgments against counterfeiters in the past decade,” said Nikki Yates, corporate director for A.L. Enterprises, parent company of CB-X Male Chastity. “Counterfeit products not only tarnish the CB-X brand, [but they also] endanger the safety of our valued customers. Now it’s time to not only bring awareness to customers about how to spot a counterfeit CB-X device, but put a stop to this nonsense altogether.”
The recent court victory is just the beginning of what the Brand Protection Department has in store for anyone unlawfully reproducing male chastity devices under the guise of the CB-X brand, Yates said. Those carrying, selling or otherwise involved in any type of CB-X product bootlegging will face legal action.
“CB-X Male Chastity, as part of its ongoing worldwide campaign to eliminate the marketing of counterfeit and infringing products, successfully enforced its IP rights in the U.K. by forcing a U.K.-based competitor to relinquish rights to confusingly similar U.K. trademarks and to stop selling counterfeit CB-X products,” the company’s attorney said.
The manufacturer has created a video on its official YouTube channel to tell a counterfeit or bootleg product from an authentic CB-X Male Chastity device.
Distributors and retailers who would like to ensure they are selling authentic CB-X devices may contact the manufacturer by emailing info@cb-x.com.
