CashCascading: Credit Card Declined? No Problem
YNOT – Third-party internet payment processor NetCash has added a new service that allows consumers whose credit cards are declined to pay with cash instead. Called CashCascading, the process may help web merchants save some sales they’d otherwise lose.
NetCash President Peter Kusner called CashCascading a game-changer.
“It’s similar to cascading[billing],” he said. “If a credit card transaction is declined, the customer receives a popup asking if he would like to pay for the transaction using cash. Upon clicking ‘yes,’ the customer is issued a payment slip and, using geo-location, the customer is shown the three closest locations he can take the payment slip into to pay. Immediately upon payment, access to the website is granted.”
Kusner said consumers may make their payments in more than 700,000 locations worldwide. He expects the method to become an industry standard, because the system works with all primary billers and is integrated into the MPA3 and NATS backend management platforms. In addition, CashCascading eliminates the risk of chargebacks. Processing rates are comparable to credit card merchant fees.
“With credit card declines rising, merchants are looking for ways to increase conversions and add incremental sales,” he said. “[CashCascading] does just that. There’s nothing to lose for a merchant to throw this solution into their cascade and start reaping the extra sales immediately.”
Kusner said NetCash has been processing in the adult market for seven years and currently serves more than 5,000 adult websites.
